UV disinfection specialist Hanovia was a finalist at the recent Slough Business Awards. The company was one of five nominated in the ‘Excellence in Export’ category.
Rafiq Chohan, Slough Business Awards chairman, “The turnout was great and we were really pleased that we had so many more finalists and winners than ever. There is no doubt it was the best one yet.”
A silent auction raised more than £1,000 for Slough Refugee Support, the awards’ charity partner, and guests were entertained by Tim Oliver and Brett Sirells – impersonators of David Brent and Gareth Keenan from the Slough-based comedy series The Office.
The awards are open to all 18,000 businesses in the SL postcode area, which includes Slough Trading Estate – Europe’s largest trading estate – where Hanovia is located.
“We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for this award and, although we didn’t win, to be one of five shortlisted exporters – out of the many thousands of exporters in the SL postcode – is no mean achievement,” said Gunvinder Bhogal, Hanovia Global Marketing Manager. “Hanovia has been based in Slough since its inception over 90 years ago. We are now one of the world’s leading manufacturers of UV lamps and systems for water disinfection in the industrial, leisure, building, aquaculture and shipping industries, with exports going as far afield as Chile, New Zealand and Fiji,” he added.
